The New QJ Motor OAO Pro Is An Electric Sportbike Perfect For The City

The futuristic electric sportbike gets a lightweight chassis and a peak output of 14 horsepower.

Electric scooters and scooters continue to shape the future of urban transportation. With that said, the majority of products on the market today consist of small-capacity scooters and utility-oriented two-wheelers. Indeed, it’s understandable why, as more and more cities promote quiet, zero-emission urban transport.

However, as battery technology advances more and more, we are now seeing more and more manufacturers offering electric motorcycles designed for fun and entertainment. A good example is the recently launched Chinese manufacturer QJ Motor and OAO Pro. You may know this car as the QJ Motor RX, an electric sports car that debuted at EICMA 2022. In China, however, the car has been renamed and tweaked to give it more range. better motion. Specifically, the concept car on display at EICMA has a range of just 120 km (75 miles), while the new OAO Pro currently has a range of 170 km (106 miles) per charge.

On the performance side of the equation, the OAO Pro is powered by a mid-mounted electric motor that puts out 5 kilowatts, or about 7 hp. The engine maxes out at 10 kilowatts (14 hp) for extra power when overtaking. With that said, we can expect this bike to feel a lot quicker than its horsepower numbers suggest, as it generates constant power throughout the rev range, resulting in a more responsive response. Instant response and quick acceleration. The motor is powered by a 72 volt, 90 amp hour battery, which is also gradually charged by regenerative braking.

Thanks to those impressive performance numbers, the QJ Motor OAO Pro has a top speed of 100 km/h – impressive for an urban commuter, but not so much for a sport bike designed to be fully equitable scheme. However, it is clear that QJ intends to make this car a “sporty commuter sports car” rather than a full-fledged sports car. Also, it’s nice that they’ve managed to maintain the driving experience of an internal combustion sports car by incorporating a manual transmission, even though one has only four gears. With a weight of 164 kg, QJ Motor OAO Pro is quite light for an electric motorcycle. In addition, the seat height of 780 mm is low for a sports bike, making it accessible to small riders. Brakes equipped with ABS ensure a confident stop, while LED lights illuminate the road ahead. Finally, the LCD control panel with convenient USB socket ensures that the driver is informed of all relevant data during their journey.
